A pigment composition (I) comprises (A) 60-90 wt.% of a pigment; (B) 10-40 wt.% of a non-ionic polyether based surfactant; and (C) 0.1-10 wt.% of an anionic sulfonate, sulfate, phosphonate or phosphate based surfactant. Independent claims are also included for (i) a process for the production of the pigment composition (I) by wet grinding of the pigment (A) in an aqueous suspension containing at least a portion of (B) optionally in the presence of (C) or followed by addition of (C) and the remaining quantity of (B); and (ii) a process for the coloring of high mol. wt. organic or inorganic materials by application of the pigment composition (I).
