<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which forms a transfer part which has low probability of jamming by making clear the relation between the hardness and diameter of a couple of rolls and can detect that a recording medium sent to a nip part passes through the transfer part by one sensor. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus where the recording medium is superposed on a toner image on an image carrier belt 20 which carries the toner image and nipped by the nip parts formed on the couple of rolls 25 and 26 to transfer the toner image on the image carrier belt 20 to the recording medium; and the recording medium to which the toner image is transferred is carried by a conveying member 53 and made to pass a fixation position to form the image of the toner image fixed on the recording medium, one roll 24 of the couple of rolls is harder and smaller in diameter than the other roll 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
