<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of controlling at need an operation mode and an operation condition of each protective means to more effectively protect a pedestrian from collision in case of collision of a vehicle and the pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: This collision protective device for the vehicle is provided with an obstacle collision predicting means to predict collision with the obstacle, an obstacle collision detecting means to detect collision with the obstacle, a collision predicting/protecting means to protect the obstacle when collision with the obstacle is predicted by the obstacle collision predicting means or when collision is detected by the obstacle collision detecting means, collision protective means to execute protection of the obstacle when collision with the obstacle is detected by the obstacle collision detecting means, and determining means to determine performance qualification when the vehicle is collided with the obstacle on the basis of the presence or absence of collision prediction in the obstacle collision predicting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
