PLASTIC HOLEY FIBER AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new plastic holey fiber with a low manufacturing cost and excellent flexibility and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the holey fiber having a plurality of holes 4 in a clad 2 near a core 3 extending in the longitudinal direction, the core 3 and the clad 2 are formed of resin. Since the plastic holey fiber can be obtained efficiently by extruding molding by this structure, the mass productivity increases to largely reduce the manufacturing cost. Since whole the fiber is formed of resin, the flexibility is improved compared to the conventional fiber made of glass fiber. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
