<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve stem seal capable of performing a firm fitting and preventing the leakage of a back pressure from a fitted portion. <P>SOLUTION: This valve stem seal comprises a projection 5 directly metal-fitting a reinforcing ring 7 to a guide 11 and sealing between the reinforcing ring 7 and the guide 11. By this, the firm fitting can be performed by directly metal-fitting the reinforcing ring 7 to the guide 11, and the occurrence of extraction of the valve stem seal 1 can be prevented regardless of the magnitude of the back pressure since large releasing force can be provided. In addition, the leakage of the back pressure from the metal fitting portion can be prevented since an area between the reinforcing ring 8 and the guide 11 is sealed by the projection 5, and the lowering of an engine function resulting from the lowering of the back pressure can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
