<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data backup system for an in-vehicle device and its method allowing efficient data backup for the in-vehicle device to be performed by a data center with a less number of memories. <P>SOLUTION: The data backup system for the in-vehicle device uses a center server 3 connected to the in-vehicle device 6 in a bidirectional data communicative manner for backing up backed-up data recorded in a main memory 13 and a backup memory 14 of the in-vehicle device. The center server comprises a means for recording in a backup database 4 data management information required for re-acquiring the backed-up data from a source when the backed-up data is determined that the source is clear, and a recovery means for re-acquiring the backed-up data from the source in accordance with the data management information read out of the backup database and re-recording it in the main memory and the backup memory of the in-vehicle device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
