<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish an auction site having high performance and high reliability by distributing loads for auction operation of a master auction server. <P>SOLUTION: In the network type auction system, a master server 10 classifies client's computers 201, 202, 203, which are operated by users who bid a product or who register a product on a watching list, into clusters for each product. One or a plurality of the computer in the cluster is set as alternate servers 2A1 and 2B1, auction management program for the product is sent to the client computer which is set as the alternate server.
