<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating facility which is in no need of lines for each fruit selection result and capable of flexibly coping with an order from an consignee. <P>SOLUTION: Each melon is separately placed in a free tray by a tray transfer machine 25 and selected, then the quality is evaluated. While being kept on the free tray, it is placed on a base tray by a base tray transfer machine 45 according to the quality. Then, it is transferred from the base tray and stored in a product case by an automatic boxing device 63, and shipped according to the order. A bar code is attached to the free tray, and the information on the code and the quality of the melon placed on the free tray are matched and managed. Thus, the melon can be traced by the free tray together with the quality, and stored in the case according to each rank (thereby flexibly coping with the order).
