PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data converter that compresses and writes data of a form used by a processing apparatus to a memory when writing the data to the memory and expands and reads the data when reading the data from the memory. SOLUTION: An address conversion section 320 of the data converter converts addresses from the processing apparatus 100 in a floating decimal point data space into a fixed decimal point data space. A data compression section 330 converts floating decimal point form data into fixed decimal point form data. A data expansion section 340 converts the fixed decimal point form data from the memory 400 into the floating decimal point form data.
