PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device, in which crosstalks among adjacent optical waveguides arranged in a high density for connecting between photoelectron integrated circuits can be reduced. SOLUTION: The semiconductor device comprises a plurality of photoelectron integrated circuit elements 2 on a support substrate 1, light-emitting elements 4 for converting electrical signals from the photoelectron integrated circuit elements 2 to optical signals and light-receiving elements 5 for converting the optical signals into electrical signals, the elements 4 and the elements 5 arranged under the photoelectron integrated circuit elements 2, and a plurality of optical waveduides 6 for connecting the elements 4 with the elements 5. The propagation directions of the light in the adjacent waveguides 6 are in directions reverse to each other. It is proper that the elements 4 and the elements 5 are arranged deviated alternately from each other, and further more proper, when plural numbers are integrally formed in an array form. Crosstalks among the adjacent waveguides 6 can be reduced, and low-cost semiconductor device having small loss can be provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
