PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize the surface temperature of a heating roll and to supply stable printing quality without shortening the lifetime of the heating roll without shortening the lifetime of the heating roll even if printing conditions, such as printing speeds and sheets of paper to be used change. SOLUTION: The surface temperature of the heating roll 5 having a plurality of heating lamps 6a, 6b, and 6c for heating toner images 2 is controlled by making combination use of temperature sensors 10a and 10b disposed in the non-travel regions of printing sheets of paper and temperature sensors 12a, 12b, and 12c disposed in the travel region of the printing sheets of paper and the correction values varying in a printing start period and subsequent printing continuation period in a control section 11 are employed for the correction values to the temperature sensors 12 which are the references for turning the respective heating lamps 6 on/off.
