PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a cold rolled steel sheet which suppresses surface defects such as pressed dents, rolling scratches, scratches or the like by removing minute foreign matters or making impressions caused with minute foreign matters harmless through cold rolling even when the minute foreign are stuck on a surface of a steel sheet on the inlet side of a cold rolling mill. SOLUTION: In the production method for the cold rolled steel sheet by a tandem cold rolling mill 1, a dull roll 7x to which a shot-blast work is applied with a grid having a particle diameter of 240-400μm after honing is used in a work roll at a preceding stand including at least a first stand of the cold rolling mill, and the cold rolling is carried out. Each draft of the respective stands of the preceding stand including the first stand to use the dull roll 7x is made not less than 35%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
