PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorter which can simply sort light wood waste etc., from gravel and/or macadam. SOLUTION: The sorter is composed of a rotary cylinder 23 having an outlet 23o at one end, an end plate 24 which is fitted to the other end of the rotary cylinder 23 and has an inlet 24i of a central hole, a rotary barrel 22 which is fitted to the inner surface of the cylinder 23 in the shape of a slanted furrow with its outlet 23o side rotated more slowly than its inlet 24i side around the shaft of the cylinder 23 and composed of a plurality of blades 25 with the shaft side of the cylinder 23 curved in the rotational direction of the cylinder 23, a rotary drive mechanism 26 for rotating the rotary barrel 22 around the shaft of the barrel 22, and an air blasting mechanism 33 for supplying air flowing from the inlet 24i to the outlet 23o into the barrel 22. By supplying air into the barrel 22 while the barrel 22 is rotated, the light wood waste etc., mixed in the gravel and/or the macadam charged from the inlet 24i into the barrel 22 are sorted from the gravel and/or the macadam and discharged from the outlet 23o.
