PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deflection yoke capable of providing a high-quality image performance by utilizing a core which is a main component of the deflection yoke as an adjusting tool. SOLUTION: A portion including a recessed notch 5 in a symmetrical horizontal surface on the small diameter side of a core 4 is made to have a magnetic resistance greater than that in a symmetrical vertical surface. On the other hand, a portion including the notch 5 in the symmetrical vertical surface on the small diameter side of the core 4 has a magnetic resistance greater than that in the symmetrical horizontal surface.
