An illumination area comparing step (S9) compares an illumination area by a detected optical image with a designed illumination area. An optimum status judging step (S10) judges whether or not the optical image illumination area is in an optimum position with respect to a designed illumination area based on the comparison result. A light flux splitting element position adjusting step (S11) adjusts the position of the light flux splitting element if judged to be not in an optimum position, and a second positioning step (S12) positions and fixes the light flux splitting element if judged to be in an optimum position.</p>
