<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that since an area (a white area in an image area and a non-image area) which is not developed by a background exposure system should be exposed, there is anxiety about a life (of a laser, an LED, etc.) and the problem that since a color image forming apparatus should form four latent images, the color image forming apparatus is more disadvantageous in life of a light source than a monochromatic image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus applies a black toner and a plurality of color toners with which electrostatic latent images formed by background exposure on a photoreceptor are developed and has a rotary developing means equipped with a plurality of developing means for the color toners except the black toner, which rotate and move to a development position opposite to the photoreceptor in timing to development of the respective colors; when the rotary developing means is rotated and moved to move one of the developing means to the development position for next development, the output of an electrostatic charting means and the output of an exposure means are turned off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
