PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water repellent composition for glass which is excellent in persistence of water repellency in comparison with a conventional one and is hardly scraped away by an automotive wiper blade. SOLUTION: This composition contains a fluoroalkylsilane compound typically represented by the formula: CF<SB>3</SB>(CF<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>Si(OR)<SB>3</SB>or CF<SB>3</SB>(CF<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>CH<SB>2</SB>SiCH<SB>3</SB>(OR)<SB>2</SB>(wherein n is an integer of 5-8; and each R is an optionally halogenated methyl or ethyl group), an acid or alkali catalyst such as an inorganic acid or alkali, an ultraviolet absorber such as a benzotriazole-based one, and an organic solvent such as a 1-3C alcohol.
