The invention relates to a polystyrene composition including a white oil as plasticizer, wherein the white oil is a Fischer-Tropsch derived oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of more than 7 mm<2>/sec, a content of mineral hydrocarbons with carbon numbers less than 25 of not more than 5% (w/w), an average molecular weight not less than 480 g/mol and a 5 wt % recovery boiling point of above 391° C., and to a process for preparing such an oil.
