In an energy-saving type elevator apparatus comprising a power storage device (30) including a secondary battery, etc., the power storage device (30) includes a power storage section (31) which stores or releases DC power, a charge/discharge circuit section (32) which charges/discharges the power storage section (31), a measuring section (33) which measures at least one of the temperature of the power accumulating section (31) or its input/output current or voltage, a charge/discharge control section (34) which controls the charge/discharge of the power storage section (31) according to the output of the measuring section (33), and a blower section (35) which supplies air to the power storage section (31) as necessary. This power storage device (30) or its predetermined constituent part is disposed inside an elevator shaft (1), or preferably immediately above or below a control board (10) disposed inside the elevator shaft (1), so that space saving is attained. |
