<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increasing of power consumption even if high frequency superimposition is performed, in an optical storage device in which influence of return light for a laser power source is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: In a storage device performing read/write for a storage medium (10) by applying a drive current on which a high frequency superimposition is performed to a laser power source (22), in default, it is made in a high frequency superimposition off-state, power consumption is suppressed, only when it is judged that a servo is unstable, high frequency superimposition is made a on-state, when it is judged that the servo is stable, high frequency superimposition is made a off-state. That is, when the servo is unstable, setting for increasing power consumption is performed unavoidably, but in default, a state in which power consumption is less is kept, and power saving effect can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
