<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk recorder and its file backup system capable of easily recovering an image file even if it is broken. <P>SOLUTION: The image file stored in the hard disk of a HD recorder 1 is periodically transmitted to a server 10 via a LAN 30 to be stored as a backup image file in the server 10. If the image file in the hard disk of the HD recorder 1 is broken, a recovery switch is pressed for obtaining the backup image file from the server 10 and storing it in the hard disk of the HD recorder 1.
