<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which performs control so that conspicuousness of noise with emphasis of luminance and color is avoided in an image with high compression rate and the luminance and the color are sufficiently emphasized in an image with low compression rate after performing the optimum compensation of the luminance, the color and emphasis processing to a display device to be used. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with a decoding means which considers compressed image data as input, restores, outputs an original image by performing decoding processing, reads and outputs compressed image information indicating a format and the content of compression processing of the original image from the compressed image data, a parameter storage means which stores a plurality of signal processing parameters and parameter information, a control means which outputs parameter selection information for selecting one of the plurality of signal processing parameters by using the compressed image information and the parameter information, a parameter selection means which selects and outputs one of the plurality of signal processing parameters based on the parameter selection information and a signal processing means which performs signal processing to the original image by using the signal processing parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
