PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flashing discharge lamp device having an arc tube having a long service life without being broken, and capable of preventing erroneous light emission by always constantly applying a trigger electric field to an electrode. SOLUTION: This flashing discharge lamp is provided with, in the outside of an arc tube 2 of a flashing discharge lamp with a pair of electrodes 1 disposed, an adjacent conductor 3 for high voltage power feed extending between the electrodes 1. The flashing discharge lamp device is characterized in that a dielectric member 4 is disposed outside the arc tube 2 and at a position facing the electrodes 1; the adjacent conductor 3 for high voltage power feed is disposed inside the dielectric member 4; and the dielectric member 4 and the arc tube 2 are fixed by a conductive member 4 not connected to the adjacent conductor 3.
