PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spring mounting structure which improves the efficiency of mounting a coil spring in a shutter take-up shaft, and is free from meander of the coil spring even if the coil spring is extended to a predetermined length and twisted. SOLUTION: According to the spring mounting structure, engaging holes 6 are formed in peripheral surfaces of respective cylindrical bodies 3, 41, and engaging members 8, 12 are formed on the peripheral surfaces at locations circumferentially separated from the engaging holes 6. Then a hook portion 50 formed by folding an end of the spring 5 is engaged with the engaging hole 6, and the engaging members 8, 12 are inserted into a gap between adjacent coils 51, 52 which are wound on the peripheral surfaces of the cylindrical bodies 3, 41, to thereby inhibit the coil 51 from moving in a spring lengthwise direction.
