PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a resin dispersion, by which the non-aqueous resin dispersion having excellent pigment dispersibility can simply be produced. SOLUTION: This method for producing the resin dispersion wherein the fine particles of the graft polymer are dispersed in an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent is characterized by copolymerizing the following vinyl monomer (A) with the following macromonomer (B) in the aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, while the total amount of the polymerizable monomers and the obtained graft copolymer in the reaction solution is maintained to≤35 wt. % based on the amount of the reaction solution during the polymerization period. The vinyl monomer (A) is soluble in the aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent and forms a homopolymer insoluble in the aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent. The macromonomer (B) is a macromonomer comprising a polymer portion having a≥8C alkyl group-having alkyl (meth)acrylate unit content of≥50 wt. %. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
