PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having a phase-changing recording layer which is constituted based on quite a new concept that the content of Mn is increased compared with a conventional content while Sb is a main component.
SOLUTION: This optical recording medium has a recording layer 3b constituted of a plurality of elements, and the recording layer 3b contains Sb and contains Mn in the ratio of 20 to 40 atomic% when the amount of all constituent elements of the recording layer 3b is l00 atomic%. Under this constitution, the optical recording medium is composed mainly of Mn which is conventionally recognized as a mere added element and increases a crystallization temperature the same as or higher than an optical recording medium having a recording layer composed mainly of chalcogens and increases a rewriting speed the same as or faster than the latter.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
