<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent job information from being left out of collection with respect to a composite machine of high utilization frequency without lowering utilization efficiency as a network, when collecting job information of respective composite machines connected via the network. <P>SOLUTION: When collecting the job information indicating utilization statuses from the respective composite machines via a network 101 at every given time, the number of pieces of job information to be next collected is predicted for each composite machine based upon a first value indicating the maximum number of stored job information for each composite machine, a second value indicating the number of job information collected at present and a third value indicating an average value of job information collected before the job information which is collected at present. As a result of prediction, a composite machine with high possibility to overwrite non-collected job information within the prescribed time is discriminated and such a composite machine is controlled to shorten the given time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
