<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method not needing mounting of a large memory in a printer for receiving data demanding electric power in regard to a battery-driven printer wherein electric power to be consumed is precedently demanded for preventing midway stoppage due to insufficient remaining amount of a battery. <P>SOLUTION: A printer driver 20 is provided with a function 22 of calculating the necessary power for printing from printing object data ϕ1, a function 23 of acquiring remaining amount information of the battery 15, a function 24 of judging printing propriety from the power and the remaining amount information, and a function 31 of outputting the data ϕ1 to the printer only when printing is possible. By judging the printing propriety in a portable terminal 1 side, stoppage of printing operation due to insufficiency of a battery remaining amount can be prevented without mounting a large memory in the printer 2. By starting electric power supply to the printer 2 only when it is judged that printing is possible and stopping the electric power supply when printing is finished, waste of the battery can be prevented also. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
