OPTICAL FIBER GRATING COUPLER TYPE ALL-OPTICAL TRANSISTOR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an all-optical transistor with simplified construction and with low connection loss at a low cost by using an optical fiber grating coupler which is a fiber type optical device.

SOLUTION: Controlling signal light and signal light to be controlled are made incident on the optical fiber grating coupler of which the Bragg wavelength is set to be a signal light wavelength. Thereby the Bragg wavelength of the optical fiber grating is shifted from the signal light wavelength and the fiber type all-optical transistor controlling signal light with high optical intensity by signal light with low optical intensity is realized.
