PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to specify a desired area using a unitary specific code. SOLUTION: A national map is parted into sections of 900sec.square, each section is parted into blocks of 30sec.square, and each block is parted into units of 1sec.square to make it possible to designate a range in the map in hierarchy. To each section, a 3-digit section code is defined. To each block, a 3-digit block code is defined in accordance with relative position relation in the section. To each unit, a 3-digit unit code is defined in accordance with relative position relation in the block. To the section code, the block code, and the unit code, an area code is added, so that a unitary specific code is composed.
