PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variator capable of mutually sealing two pressures by leading two independent pressures into an axial hole at the same shaft end of a primary shaft or a secondary shaft in the variator of a belt type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: Independent pressures are allowed to act on a variator pressure chamber 31 and a second pressure chamber 8 through the axial hole of a variator shaft 1. A pressure supply to the variator pressure chamber 31 is performed through the first hole portion 13 of the axial hole 10, a pressure supply to the second pressure chamber 8 is performed through a non-rotating tube 7 and the second hole portion 15 of the axial hole 10, and the tube 7 is disposed in the first hole portion 13. The tube 7 comprises two packing rings 73 for dynamically sealing a pressure supply passage to the variator pressure chamber 31 and the second pressure chamber 8. The variator shaft 1 comprises air vent holes 9, 92 one of which is positioned between two packing rings 73 and the other of which is led to the inner chamber 94 of the transmission.
