PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tie rod adjusting device capable of correctly adjusting the rotating axis line of a rotating part at the tip of an open end wrench to the axis line of the shaft-shape workpiece without depending on a worker's visual recognition in the case of engaging the open end wrench with the shaft-shape workpiece such the tie rod or the like. SOLUTION: When the shaft-shape workpiece A is inserted to an insertion groove 700 of the open end wrench 7, the detection means 781, 782 detect whether the shaft-shape workpiece A exists or not at the both edge ends of the bottom part of the insertion groove 700 of the open end wrench 7. When the shaft-shape workpiece A does not detected at either edge end, the rotating axis line of the angle of the rotating part 721 of the open end wrench 7 with respect to the axis line of the shaft-shape workpiece A is changed by controlling a driving mechanism 8 with a driving mechanism control means 6, and the shaft-shape workpiece A is detected at the both edge ends.
