PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of performing accurate printing by generating an accurate ink ejection timing pulse through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: A timing generating section 22 comprises a timer 12 for measuring the period Tn of an n-th encoder pulse, and a section for storing a memory tableα(Ter) delivering a predetermined correction valueαwhen being referred by a value Ter corresponding to the period Tn and a reference period Tref in an ideal movement. The Ter is determined by the previous period Tn-1 and the reference period Tref such that Ter=Tn-1-Tref and a timing division periodΔT=(Tn-1+α(Ter))/M is obtained using a desired integer M as a divisor.
