The regulation method has characteristic measured values for the liquid quantity or liquid quantity variation in the fuel cell system determined for corresponding adjustment of the cooling output of a fluid condensation device, the condensed liquid fed to the anode circuit of the fuel cell system. An Independent claim for a fuel cell system is also included.
