[Also in Divisions F1 and G3] In an installation comprising a boiler supplying steam through line 3 to a condensing steam turbine 1, the heat output of the boiler furnace and/or the boiler feedwater supply and/or the turbine steam inlet pressure are/is influenced by a control signal representing where Qi is the actual rate of steam flow to the turbine, Pi is the actual steam pressure at the turbine inlet, and Pd is the desired steam pressure at the turbine inlet. Pi is measured by a piston manometer 25 connected to a transducer 6 which yields an electrical current proportional to Pi. Qi is measured by a flowmeter 4 connected to a transducer 5 which yields an electrical current proportional to Qi. The currents from transducers 5, 6 together with one representative of Pd set at rotary potentiometer 7, are fed to an electrical computing circuit R the output current of which provides the influencing control signal. The latter influences the furnace output through regulator 8 and line 9, and/or influences the boiler feedwater supply through a line 12 via a circuit 11 supplied with other control signals, e.g. one dependent on the temperature downstream of the evaporator. Alternatively or additionally, the control signal may influence the turbine steam inlet pressure through a regulator 10.</p> |
