The machine for the production of a paper web (10) has a closed fourdrinier (1,2) moving around carrier and guide rollers (11,21), and a stock inlet (3) to feed pulp to the fourdrinier assembly. Suction units (41-43) are along the line of the fourdrinier path together with ceramic stripper bars. The fourdriniers and the ceramic bars are cooled by a coolant, and especially water, delivered by jets (61-63) controlled by valves (71-73). At least one thermal sensor is fitted to at least part of the ceramic bars (44), linked to a display or a control unit (70).
