The tile, designed to be fixed to roof battens, is made with two stepped sections - an upper section (7) with lateral interlocking channels (10), and a lower section (8) that overlaps the lateral edges of the tile in the row beneath. The front edge (11) of the lower section projects downwards to overlap the front edges of adjacent tiles on either side. The tile can be made in flat, ridged and curved versions.
