An independent claim is included for identifying plant variety which involves inoculating plant virus that contains RNA of a specific base sequence, such that the plant is infected with the virus, obtaining the virus infected plant, carrying out vegetative propagation of the plant, and the RNA of the reproduced tissue is analyzed.
