FIELD: forest industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves providing sites for turning of machine on swaths at distances multiple half the length of strip of gang of wood bundle forwarded by short log truck and transition of machine onto adjacent swath. Machine moves in forward and backward directions and collects bundles of wood from territories of two swaths. EFFECT: reduced power consumption for forwarding of wood bundles owing to reduced movements by short log trucks over skidding roads and increased efficiency of equipment employed for performing of this operation. 1 dwg
