FIELD: electrical engineering; high-frequency chargers and power supplies for battery-driven vehicles. SUBSTANCE: dc traction drive engineering package supplied with power from units with electrically isolated output voltage has power voltage regulator built around fully controlled switching components and field current regulator of traction motor incorporating independent field winding. Newly introduced charging relay and double-winding choke have made it possible to use same components to feed 12-V electrical equipment and to trickle charge vehicle storage battery while it is running, as well as to charge traction battery at power factor close to unity during parking period.
