A fabric conditioning composition comprising: i) a quaternary ammonium fabri c softening compound containing at least one ester group and; ii) a polymeric nonionic surfactant with a molecular weight of le ss than 15,000 and having two long chain alkyl groups in which the two long chains are separated from each other by a hydrophilic moiety.
