Disclosed are 2-[(2-alkoxy-6-trifluoromethyl pyrimidine-4- yl)-oxymethylene]-phenyl acetic acid derivatives of the formula (I) in which U is CH or N, V is O or NH, R is alkyl, R1 is cyano halogen, alkyl, alkyl halide, alkoxy, alkoxy halide and phenyl, and N is O or a whole number from 1 to 4, processes and intermediate products for their production and their use. These derivatives are useful for controlling animal pests and harmful fungi. (see formula I)
