PURPOSE: To maintain a constant peak value of resonance voltage by controlling the on duration of a first switching apparatus according to the value of the discharge current of a first capacitor, and thereby controlling the values of the resonance voltage of an inductor and a second capacitor. CONSTITUTION: A first capacitor 10 is charged with the output of a rectifying apparatus 6, and thus a smooth d.c. voltage, lower than the peak value of non- smooth d.c. voltage, is held. A resonance circuit, composed of a second capacitor 13 and an inductor 9, produces a resonance voltage according to the switching of a first switching apparatus 7 and a second switching apparatus 8. Thus the input current from an a.c. power supply 1 is secured even for a period when the peak value of non-smooth d.c. voltage is low to increase input rate, and further distortion in input current is reduced to reduce higher harmonics in the input current. Further, the on duration of the first switching apparatus 7 is controlled according to the value of the discharge current of the first capacitor 10 flowing thereto, and resonance voltage is thereby controlled. |
