PURPOSE: A device and a method for setting up a quick mode of an air conditioner are provided to quickly operate the air conditioner by a memorized air-conditioning mode pattern by installing mode memory buttons to an instrument panel and memorizing various air-conditioning mode patterns by the mode memory buttons. CONSTITUTION: A device for setting up a quick mode of an air conditioner comprises a control unit(100) receiving various information about interior and exterior air of a vehicle and automatically controlling air-conditioning mode patterns relative to the temperature, air volume, wind direction of the air conditioner, and incoming of interior and exterior air; plural mode memory buttons installed to an operating part(200), to memorize the corresponding air-conditioning mode pattern data when the mode memory buttons are pushed for more than a predetermined time by the air-conditioning mode pattern output by the control unit, and to operate the air conditioner by control unit, with the memorized air-conditioning mode pattern matched when the mode memory buttons are pushed for not more than a predetermined time; and a memory device(110) memorizing the air-conditioning mode pattern input by the mode memory buttons or changing and memorizing the memorized data. The control unit controls the air-conditioning mode patterns according to manual operation of each button of the operating unit installed to the instrument panel.
