<p>The fruit and vegetables storage box (1) has a support grid in its base, with a series of holes in it allowing movement of moisture. A small quantity of water is added to the container, beneath the grid, maintaining the moisture level whilst the food is stored. The box (1) for storing fruit and vegetables includes a support panel (3) lying near to the base, but supported on feet (7) so that there is a space between this panel and the base of the box. The support panel has a series of holes formed in it allowing movement of moisture whilst supporting the fruit or vegetables to be stored. A small quantity of water is added to the container, so that there is a depth of about 5 millimetres of water in the base of the container, maintaining the moisture level whilst not actually in contact with the fruit or vegetables. In an alternative arrangement, a perforated basket may be used in place of the simple support plate.</p> |
