PURPOSE: To provide a spindle device provided with sufficient load capacity against bending moment and capable of reducing power loss and heat generation of a main axis due to a radial dynamic-pressure bearing. CONSTITUTION: This device is composed of a housing, a spindle rotor provided in such a manner that one end thereof projects from the housing, a pair of radial dynamic-pressure bearing provided on the spindle rotor with a designated interval in an axial direction and bearing the spindle rotor rotatably in relation to the housing, a supply flow passage leading lubricant to bearing gap of each radial dynamic-pressure bearing part, a first cooling chamber provided between a pair of the radial dynamic-pressure bearing parts with surrounding the spindle rotor in a circumference direction and communicating to the bearing gap of the radial dynamic-pressure bearing part, and an air intake taking atmospheric air outside of the housing into the first cooling chamber.
