PURPOSE: A switched reluctance machine is provided to be capable of economically starting a generating system on a bus which has no long-term storage. CONSTITUTION: A switched reluctance machine has three phase windings(63) assembled on stator poles(61) of the phases A, B and C. A rotor(66) has rotor poles(64) and is mounted on a shaft(68). The stator also carries a priming winding(65), which is full pitched across the machine, embracing the poles of all the phases, and extending along the longitudinal axis of the stator. |
