PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for controlling charge current of a stroboscope are provided to lengthen a lifetime of a battery by preventing the battery from being discharged without warning. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling charge current of a stroboscope includes a battery(19), an image sensor portion(11), a digital signal processor portion(12), a current controller portion(13), a voltage transformer portion(14), a high voltage charge portion(15), a trigger circuit portion(16), a flash unit, and a display lamp(18). The battery(19) is used as a main power source. The image sensor portion(11) converts an image to an electric signal. The digital signal processor portion(12) processes image data and outputs a control signal. The current controller portion(13) controls the current and an operation of the flash according to the control signal of the digital signal processor portion(12). The voltage transformer portion(14) boosts the voltage of the battery(19). The high voltage charge portion(15) performs a feedback process in a state of full charge. The trigger circuit portion(16) discharges temporarily the voltage of the high voltage charge portion(15) according to the control signal of the digital signal processor portion(12). The flash unit is used for converting the high voltage to the light. The display lamp(18) is used for indicating the charged state.
