PURPOSE: A translucent liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent electrolytic corrosion reaction between a reflective electrode film containing Al or Al alloy and a transparent electrode film formed from ITO(Indium Tin Oxide). CONSTITUTION: A transmissive area(PXa) and a reflective area(PXb) are disposed in a pixel area(PX). The transmissive area casts light from a backlight source. The reflective area receives external ambient light. A transparent electrode film(5) is formed on the reflective area of an active matrix substrate(12) using the second passivation film(24) inserted between a reflective film(6) and the transparent electrode film.
