PURPOSE: A system and a method for authentication through iris recognition, and a recording medium storing program source for the same are provided to prevent misrecognition due to the variance of an iris by automatically or manually storing the original iris information again if a matching probability of the iris information is dropped under a constant value by a natrium ring or a cholesterol ring. CONSTITUTION: An image input tool(100) captures an image of the iris. A controller(110) separates the captured iris image into concentric circles, and fixes and stores a standard level for the separated concentric circles. The controller compares the captured iris image with the original iris image previously stored by separating the original iris image into the concentric circles, and checks that the matching probability of a part hidden by a shape such as the cholesterol is dropped under the standard level. If the matching probability is dropped under the standard level, the original iris information is stored again. A message output tool(120) outputs an iris information restoring message by control of the controller.
